The King's Road is the start point for this narrated wander around the backstreets of Chelsea. While the King's Road may be associated with the swinging sixties and Punk, Cheyne Walk has long been associated with the rich, famous and artistic, including the Rolling Stones, Bram Stoker, Ian Fleming, George Elliott, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Michael Bloomberg.... the list is endless. Chelsea Embankment and Albert Bridge hail from a time when Turner's beautiful paintings failed to express the stench and chaos of this part of the Thames desperately in need of fixing. And when Charles II wanted to show his thanks to his army, the Royal Hospital was the result to become the home of the Chelsea pensioners. By the way, in terms of traffic noise, this is probably the noisiest walk I have ever recorded!
