The small village of Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière is located in the southern Vésubie valley directly on the M2565 road. At the southern end of the village, the M19 road branches off to the east. The road climbs up the eastern side of the Vésubie valley and reaches the small village of Duranus after approx. 5 km. From here, the route continues to the village of Levens, which is even further south. The total distance is a good 12 km. The road is well developed and generally easy to drive on. Many parts of the road are carved into the rock and are exposed above the precipice into the Vésubie valley. There are also some somewhat confusing places here where special care is required. Otherwise, the road is easy to drive on. The road is located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
