Sharpening a Singing Straight Razor

Geo performs a light sharpening or touch up on one of his old school antique straight razors. This one is a Brosem Ring which is also known as a Ringing or Singing blade. The geometry of the blade and the way it is hollowed out allows it to vibrate, flex, and sing. First the Naniwa 12K stone is soaked, whetted and used to perform several round trips with light pressure. Then the Shave Nation 3 inch Leather Strop is used. First about 25 Round Trips on the fabric side loaded with green chromium oxide, then around 50 round trips on the smooth leather side. This will bring the razor to a shave ready condition.
