きゅうくらりん【Kyu-kurarin】| Thirty Dollar Website Cover

original video:    • きゅうくらりん / いよわ feat.可不(Kyu-kurarin / I...   thirty dollar website by GD Cologne: https://thirtydollar.website This is my first cover btw Algorithm detected this as kyu kurarin so I guess I made it good enough This took 2 months, probably around 160 hours, and the original went up by 2 million views by the time I finished Wall of Text Warning: So when I first started making this, I had pretty much 0 musical experience other than playing rhythm games. I saw a few thirty dollar website covers and thought, "hey, that looks kind of fun." So I tried to come up with ideas, and thought it would be funny to do a really hard song (that I could still realistically do) . So this was one of the first to come to mind. I knew that there were a lot of offbeat notes, but I kind of ignored them at first. Instead, I waited until around 0:40 to start doing the offbeat stuff. This was because I got the individual tracks for each of the instruments so I could hear each one better. I'm still not sure exactly how they were placed in the original, but what I did was I went down to 1/64 notes and placed them by ear to the nearest 1/64. This sounded pretty good and I thought it was good enough. (Although there were some places where I thought I maybe even could have gone to 1/128 because it sounded like it was in between the 1/64 notes) Once I finished the first chorus, I was planning to stop there, but I didn't have anything else to do over winter break. So then the rest happened. Here's a few notes of mine on either what I missed or where the instruments were in the original (because some can be kind of hard to hear). Probably the most important thing to know here, is that I used an audio to midi converter for the piano track. It wasn't 100% accurate so I had to go in and move, add/remove some notes. The piano is by far the most complicated instrument in this song so I kind of had to cheat. But at least I'd admit to it, unlike Midi Man's covers. There's a bass guitar playing over some parts of the songs, but it's so inaudible in the original that I didn't use it The drums I did horribly, the only accurate sounding parts are at 1:23 and 3:18 until the end 0:04 : There's higher pitched piano notes that I was too lazy to add 0:06 : There's a part very similar to 2:49 with the gold blocks that I didn't hear at first. Banjo sounds are on the left side 0:08 : There's actually more notes than I put stars here, I just didn't hear them before I had the separate tracks and I also didn't want to go back and change. (This is going to be a common trend) 0:10 : These flute notes are actually delayed a bit compared to putting them on beat but I didn't do that 0:49 There's actually very quiet sounds that are basically identical to the bit sounds at 0:40 but are basically inaudible. (also, gold blocks were meant to be the reverse xylophone that can be heard on left audio track, and flower was trumpet on the right. The trumpet notes are slightly offbeat which I did not do) 0:58 There's a synth that starts playing here on the right side 1:05 There's a higher piano part playing here on the right side. 1:22 There were xylophone sounds on the left for this entire part, but I only did like half. Also a some synth on the right side that I didn't do. The drums and piano are put at around 112.2 bpm (not sure if it's exactly 112 or just a 1% speed up and then half speed) every piano note is offset by about a quarter note 1:41 Sounds that I did with flute play here. 2:35 Low trumpet on right side that I didn't do. Mario sound things on the left. 2:43 Synth on left and bit sounds here 2:48 Gold blocks here took 5 days total to make, and I have like MAYBE 95% confidence of how accurate they are 2:53 some of the sounds are pitched down ever so slightly (bit and piano) 3:18 the reason this part is so weird is for a couple of reasons. First, the drums are a combination of 222bpm and 440bpm (the normal drum beat sped up 2x). Second, there are a LOT of off beat piano sounds Also at 3:18, to my surprise, I found no piano or midi covers that had the rising piano notes (maybe there is one but I haven't found it). I felt like they were probably the easiest piano sounds to hear in the entire song but idk. Plus not even the audio to midi converter got it. And if you don't believe me go listen in the original. I swear I'm not crazy... right????? lastly, I actually got EVERYTHING right, the things that sound wrong are just added dissonance (not coping) #thirtydollarwebsite #きゅうくらりん
