Ms. Maruthipiriya completed her schooling from Holy Mary Girls Higher Secondary School, Mettur and her engineering degree from SSM College of Engineering, Kumarapalayam in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Mrs. Marutipiriya's father Ramasamy passed away recently and he was working as a junior engineer in the water resources department of Mettur Dam. Mother Gandhimati is a housewife. Her husband Mr. Prabhakaran is an engineer in textile industry. The couple's twin children are studying in class five. After completing her engineering degree in 2011, she is married and a mother of two and continues to study for competitive exams. She is a great example of how hard work pays off. It is also noteworthy that she has been working as a junior assistant in the school education department since last year. Not only has she proved that marriage and child bearing is not a big obstacle, she has topped the state level and today he has received the appointment order as Deputy Collector.
