USA LIVE: US House Committee Hearing on AG Merrick Garland Contempt Charges | House Republicans | CNBC TV18 The House Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over audio recordings of special counsel Robert K. Hur’s interviews with President Biden over his mishandling of classified documents. Lauren Boebert has said Donald Trump was "praying" after numerous reports claimed he fell asleep during his criminal trial in New York. Trump has reportedly dozed off several times during the course of his New York trial so far. He is being tried in New York over a $130,000 payment made by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 presidential election. Trump has been charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records to hide his reimbursement to Cohen for the hush money payment. He has denied all charges and having an alleged affair with Daniels. "I think he's praying. As you say, I think he's praying, but if he is sleeping he certainly looks pretty while he sleeps," Boebert said. "Maybe it's an endearing moment of prayer though." The Republican-led panel voted 18-15 hours after the president sought to shield the attorney general. Mr. Biden asserted executive privilege over the audiotapes that Mr. Hur used during his two-day interview in October.
