DIY TINY TREASURES Mini Dollhouse COLLECTORS Cabinet ~ NO KIT ~

Materials Listed Below: I Used Thin Brass Sheet to Make the Drawer Handles. Acrylic Paint to Paint the Cabinet. Super Glue and Tacky Glue to Glue all the Parts. Nail Art Stickers / Decals for the Butterflies. Real Gemstones that I Already Had for Jewelry Making. I Also Found 3D Nail Art Trays With Sea Shells, Tiny Starfish etc. These Were Perfect Size for the Cabinet. Soft Clay (No Baking) and Wire to Make the Tiny Bugs and Posca Pens to Colour Them in and for the Handles to Create a Used / Worn look. Card for the Inside of the Drawers. Measurements are in the video. I Was Fortunate to Visit Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm and I Loved her Curiosities Room. She Kept a Collectors Specimen Cabinet and That's Where I Got the Idea of Making This Miniature Dollhouse Version. I Also Wanted my Cabinet to Look Used and Old. I Watched on TV Some Real Woodworkers and Furniture Makers Build Cabinets and Wanted Mine to Be as Realistic as Possible. I have Also Seen This Technique Used Before by Miniaturists and Wanted to Try it. Bahar Miniatures Also Uses This Technique. Check out her Work, It's Really Amazing. I Rarely Plan my Makes but in This One I Used Measurements From Real Antique Cabinets in 1:12th Scale (I Rounded up the Measurements to Make it Easier for Me) It's not 100% Correct but for me, Close Enough. For the Main Construction, I Mainly Used 2 mm Thick Plywood and the the Rest (Like the Drawers) I Used 2 mm Thick Balsawood. I did Have Problems With the Drawers and had to Keep Sanding the Side Panels for Them to Open More Smoothly. I also Had to Adjust the Front Panel Sizes. I Got the Bottom of The Drawers Wrong and Had to Start Again. BEWARE...Painting the Drawers will Add Thickness to Them and the Drawers Might be too Tight (as I Discovered) so I Had to Sand the Edges / Sides and Repaint Them Again With Much Thinner Layer of Paint.
