The 2013 People's Choice Awards honored Sandra Bullock with the award for "Favorite Humanitarian" for her generous philanthropic efforts throughout her career, specifically her ongoing commitment to Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans. Since Hurricane Katrina, she has contributed funds for college scholarships for graduating seniors, band uniforms, athletic equipment and has helped fund the renovation of the school auditorium and construction of a school-based health center. School Health Connection has partnered with Warren Easton since 2009 to develop a comprehensive school wellness program. School Health Connection also works with the Warren Easton school-based health center, which opened in 2011, to increase student enrollment and utilization.
