Being able to enter a handstand consistently is just as important as the balance itself when it comes to performing freestanding handstands. Unfortunately, the kick-up is often a movement that is neglected when training when in fact it is quite crucial. Training the kickup to handstand on it's own can greatly increase the confidence and consistency of your freestanding handstand. This video includes a few thoughts on how I like to teach it.
