But, like many other children my age, these games would be my first time experiencing the Johto Region. My mom brought me into GameStop on release day and bought me the game for $39.99, as a very early Christmas present. I had no idea at the time how immersive this game truly was. I trained up my Pokémon, brought them to school with the PokéWalker, and made friends with the other kids were just as obsessed as I was with the game.
