A shoutout to all fathers out there - don't take your moments with your children for granted; all too soon they may be taken from you. Children, love your fathers; you never know when a car accident or workplace incident will take him from you. And if you are at all tempted to lash out at each other, think to yourself: "What if he dies tomorrow? In the next few minutes, even?" I really love my dad. I live on a farm, so we have countless opportunities to learn new things. And, for almost everything I've learned, my dad played a major role in teaching me. But most of all, he taught me the way of Christ, which I am so glad I know to this day. But here's the catch: I didn't always have that. For the first eight years of my life, I lived in broken homes (note the plurality). I had to get used to different lifestyles, none of which made sense, at all. After I turned 2 until around 5 or so, I had no father figure in my life. The father figures I did have in the timespans 0 - 2 and 5 - 8 were not healthy role models. So, due to foster/adoption, I am here in a loving family with a healthy father figure to look up to.
