The Newhall Massacre took place in 1970. Four California Highway Patrolmen were murdered by two dangerous criminals. This drill is named in honor of Officer Skip Pence, one of the fallen officers. The drill is a range simulation of the situation faced by Officer Pence. It is one of the two keystone drills of the Revolver Operator Course.
