When I´ve decided to make a drum cover of this song I´ve honestly thought this is gonna be an easy one. I practiced and didn’t have any difficulties so I added some hihat stomping (as I’d still like to level that up and it also gives a nice touch to it). The day I recorded my drums I found out that it’s way harder then expect. You can hear 8th notes from different instruments basically through out the whole song and I thought that’s an advantage as I don’t record with metronome. Actually I found it way harder to concentrate on those different instruments while playing and singing to it :D There’s basically no space for being just a little off as the rhythm section is so precisely and tight and you notice every hit which is not 100% locked in. So that one was really a surprise for me and took me some more takes than usual to be honest :D Absolutely can recommend recording yourself to that song while playing the drums (fun fact: it was not as hard when I recorded my bass cover 6 months ago :D). NEWS: The connoisseurs of you might have noticed already that my little studio looks a bit different ;) We refurbished this (and many other) room/s and I rearranged it.
