Gemstone faceting: cutting a huge quartz stone (portuguese cut)

The video shows the different steps of cutting and polishing a gemstone, faceting in particular. Im cutting a large piece of quartz in the portuguese design. I use a facetron machine . The various laps used are nickel bond diamond laps, 100, 260, 360, 600, and 1200 grit laps. The prepolish lap i used is a lightning lap 3000 grit lap. The polishing lap i used is a gearloose lapidary creamway lap. The stones finished weight was 192.5 carats and the total time cutting was 30 hrs. and 35 min.. There were 5 tiers of facets on both the pavillion and crown. Total number of facets on this portuguese cut design is 177. update: 3/12/19 : I have corrected the color of the captions in all my later videos. they have a black background around the letters.
