Sometimes a screw on the saxophone may be loose. Typically the screw for the lyre, the ligature or possibly the thumb rest screw. There could also be another screw somewhere else on the instrument that’s worked its way loose over time. You may become aware of this less through hearing it than feeling a vibration come up through your top teeth and into your skull.
