The Ring of Brodgar, is part of 'The Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site.' The great Neolithic henge the Ring of Brodgar stands sentinel on a slightly sloping isthmus, between the two largest lochs in Orkney. The remaining 27 upright stones stand in dramatic contrast to the rolling Orkney landscape. The area seems to be illuminated even on the gloomiest of days, perhaps because of the water. Many claim there is something of an indefinable spiritual nature about the place.
