2005 NLCS (Cardinals @ Astros) Game Five

The 2005 Cardinals were on life support going into Game Five of the NLCS. Having won the opener, the Cardinals dropped game two at home, and thanks to some rather sharp misfortune (and defensive miscues), they had dropped games three and four in Houston. Needing a win to stay alive, they turned to Chris Carpenter in game five, and things were going well ... until Lance Berkman parked a cheap-o Crawford Boxes home run in the 7th to put the Astros on the verge of their first ever pennant. Things looked bad for the Cardinals then, but even worse in the bottom of the 9th, trailing by two, with nobody on, and two out, against Brad Lidge, one of the premier closers in the National League. But, in baseball, you never know what can happen before that 27th out is made. Eckstein poked a seeing-eye single into left. Edmonds walked. Then, Albert Pujols happened.
