Looking to Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, he forged a sound that his compatriots didn’t get, but which made him something of a cult figure decades later, when a track was revived for the Minimal Wave Vol 1 compilation. Now living and working in Beijing, he divides his free time between running, cycling and music. Not that he ever listens to his own stuff – or even names or edits it, all tasks he leaves to other people.
