This USAF retirement ceremony contained all of the pomp and formality including the presentation of colors, reading of the retirement orders, comments from a superior officer, a flag presentation ceremony and other "gifts." What made it special were all the personal touches (most of which were orchestrated by his wife) and the recognition of his family and many of the friends who had come from widespread locations at which he had been stationed during his career.
