Car-dependent urban and regional mobility exacerbates pollution and reinforces inequality. While concepts like the 15-minute city, complete streets and car-free zones have positively impacted some cities, they may not suit all communities. A holistic approach involving land-use planning and mobility, coordinated across different levels of governance is essential.
