Pete from Belgrave South was rapidly running out of parking space so the decision was made to level some underutilised ground for a new parking area, he knew that there was some Granite around, but this this huge piece could not have been is a worse place. 😢 The 12 Tonne excavator that cut the site came prepared with a hydraulic breaker, the operator gave it his best shot but the breaker did not prevail. Demolition Dave summoned to provide a quick and appropriate solution, some care was required as this rock was only 4 Meters from the house at the closest point. The maximum vibration levels were were designed to be below the 10mm/S PPV Australian Standard level and no amount of flying rock or loud bangs would be acceptable. All blasts were measured @ below 7mm/s PPV and the generous amount of soft fill cover and blast mats kept it all under control.
