Doppler: Andante et Rondo, op. 25, for 2 flutes and string orchestra Andante Rondo 5:02 Keys of Change aims to advance the lives of children and young people around the world through musical education. Over the past eight years, Keys of Change has brought music education, often for the first time, to deprived or suffering audiences, in remote areas of the Amazon basin, Mexico, Ghana, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Kolkata in India and the tsunami-ravaged Fukushima area in Japan, as well as in Greece, Serbia, Russia and London, UK. “Wherever we go, we set up and fund musical education projects, working in conjunction with local music teachers. In Ecuador, we organise weekly guitar lessons for young people from deprived backgrounds. In Uganda, Sierra Leone, we have provided instruments and music lessons. In Fukushima and India, we have made regular visits to work with young musicians to improve their playing, and give them the opportunity to perform in joint concerts with Keys of Change musicians. In the case of Fukushima, this has included our organising for 40 young Japanese musicians (now known as the Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta) to come to London to give a concert with Keys of Change musicians at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in April 2014 and 2019 and for the same orchestra to perform at Tokyo Opera City in August 2015, Boston Symphony Hall in 2016 and in Bangkok 2017. Fle[x] String Ensemble was founded in 2008 in the Municipality Conservatory of Kalamata by the violinist Ilektra Vezyroglou. Initially as a string quartet , the main objective was to evolve into a complete string orchestra by attracting young musicians. In 2016 Fle[x] reaches its current state as a chamber music ensemble, formed by students and professors both from the Conservatory of Kalamata and the Athens Conservatory. The invaluable assistance of colleagues Georgia Tsolaki and Giannos Giovanos is the main key to the functionality of the ensemble. Its unique characteristics- the ensemble appears in various combinations, from a string duet up to a full string orchestra, also extended to Flex plus [+] involving various solo instruments. Fle[x] has appeared in concerts in Brussels, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Vienna, Aegina International Music Festival, Athens and Kalamata.
