DC's New Watchmen trailer (2024) pull off Zack Snyder movie R rated

(Image credit: Dc comic) After several decades of simply being known as a critically acclaimed 12-issue comic book miniseries, Watchmen made its first foray into other media when Zack Snyder’s film adaptation hit theaters in 2009. 10 years later, HBO released its Watchmen TV series (which can be streamed with a Max subscription), though rather than being another adaptation of the original story, it served as a sequel to the comic book series instead of Snyder’s movie. Now Watchmen is getting the animated film treatment, and while the exciting first trailer for this new spin on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ superhero tale for the upcoming DC movies slate has arrived, there’s also a big concern on my mind. The main characters include Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias, Daniel Dreiberg aka Nite Owl II, Edward Blake aka The Comedian, Dr. Jon Osterman aka Doctor Manhattan, Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre II, and Walter Joseph Kovacs aka Rorschach. Zack Snyder directed a feature-length adaptation of the comic in 2009 which ultimately underperformed at the box office but subsequently gained a cult following. A limited series created by Damon Lindelof premiered on HBO in 2019 and was nominated for 26 Primetime Emmy Awards – taking home 11. The narrative centres on the investigation of the murder of a former hero, The Comedian, led by the masked vigilante Rorschach. As he delves deeper, he uncovers a complex conspiracy involving his fellow heroes: the detached Dr. Manhattan, the idealistic Nite Owl, the pragmatic Silk Spectre, and the brilliant but morally ambiguous Ozymandias.
