ATSF F7 1956 Leslie S5T

This Leslie Bronze Power Chamber S5T was installed to an unknown F7 in 1957 at the ATSF San Bernardino Shops. All passenger service Fs based out of SBD received 5 Chime Leslie S5Ts to replace Leslie A200 or Wabco E2 Horns. The Leslie 5 chime was found to be a more pleasing sound than the early 50s single note honkers. In the early days of Leslie production, power chambers were cast out of bronze as can be seen on this horn. I chose to leave them unpainted to show off the beautiful bronze shine on this horn. You may also notice the welded #31 bell. Early Leslie 25 and 31 bells were cast in 2 pieces and welded together. The welded 25 disappeared in 1956 while the 31 continued another year or so, showing up into 1957-1958. Enjoy the sounds of the ATSF's glory days!
