Duran Rutledge discusses MSM Cultural Sensitivity. Men who have sex with men remain the largest population impacted by HIV in the United States. Stigma, homophobia and discrimination put gay and bisexual men of all races at ethnicities at risk and may affect whether they seek and are able to receive high quality health care services including HIV testing, treatment and prevention services. In order for health care providers to effectively address social factors which make MSM vulnerable to HIV, they need to create their own enhanced understanding of why those factors, like stigma and homophobia, put MSM at risk.
