This arrangement was actually a school project of mine for my class at Berklee called "Advanced Ensemble Writing". The project was to arrange a song for a 5 horn band + rhythm section + vocals, and I decided this song would fit that challenge very well! I don't think I've ever worked with this many vocalists together in a non-choral fashion, so this was definitely a challenge for me in terms of writing and mixing. However, after several months of on and off production, I'm elated to finally be releasing this! I haven't personally played Sonic R, but from what I can tell and from what I've heard from friends, the music is by far the best part. The controls do seem a little clunky and unresponsive, but how can you pay attention to that when every single racetrack has a cool poppy vocal song to go with it? Great design choice. Lastly, I could not have done this with the help of all my wonderful collaborators. Most of them don't have YouTube channels, but I've linked a few social media pages of people for those that have them. In case you like their performances, I encourage you to follow them in the future!
