Anthem of the German Democratic Republic (Auferstanden aus Ruinen) Fingerstyle guitar cover Did you know that Germany was split in two after WW2? Well, this is East Germany's anthem. The country was also called GDR in English and DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) or Ostdeutschland in German. It was a communist country that lasted untill 1990. The anthem is called "Auferstanden aus Ruinen", which means "Resurrected from ruins". This is the second anthem that I post, one of my favourite anthems!
