ENGLISH -- [Versión en español debajo] This is an interesting piece composed by Antonio Lauro. It is not a valse, as most of Lauro's compositions, but a "Danza Zuliana", which has a rhythm that is popular in the west region of Venezuela, specifically at Zulia State. This is my first approach to the piece, I hope to upload a cleaner version in short time. My teacher Samuel Granados and I have been spending a lot of time preparing this piece, but there's still some work to do. There are some parts which require a lot of practice and hard work, as when the first theme is replayed (00:14), at a particular passage around the 12nd fret (00:36) and during a slide (00:43), which I haven't got the hang of yet, regarding to rhythm. I love strong-rhythm pieces and, in my opinion, Lauro did a fantastic job with this composition -- its themes are beautiful and fresh. Its bass line is really ingenious. No matter how much I practice this piece, I keep making several mistakes every time I record it... I hope you enjoy it. -------------------------------------- ESPAÑOL Ésta es una pieza muy interesante compuesta por el maestro Antonio Lauro. No es un vals, como la mayoría de sus composiciones, sino una "Danza Zuliana", un ritmo popular del occidente de Venezuela, específicamente del estado Zulia. Este es mi primer acercamiento grabado a la pieza; espero poder subir una versión más limpia en poco tiempo, pero todavía queda bastante trabajo por hacer. Hay algunas partes que requieren mucha práctica y trabajo, como cuando se retoma el primer tema (00:14), en un pasaje alrededor del traste 12 (00:36) y en un slide (00:43), éste último me ha costado desde el punto de vista rítmico; todavía no le he agarrado la vuelta. A mí me llaman la atención las piezas con rítmica fuerte y, en mi opinión, el maestro Lauro se la comió con esta pieza. La melodía es fresca y atractiva y la línea de bajos es muy ingeniosa. Sin importar cuánto practique esta pieza, sigo cometiendo errores cuando la grabo. ¡Que la disfruten!
