Storm Alberto: River in Mexico bursts its banks, washes out roads

Storm Alberto carved a path of destruction in Monterrey, the main city in northern Mexico, on Thursday as it washed out a roadway and caused the Santa Catarina River to burst its banks. Alberto, the first named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, weakened into a tropical depression as it moved inland over northeastern Mexico. The storm brought with it heavy rains and flooding, killing four people, including three children.
