We cover two major features that were developed in the last 12 months. The first feature is Native MQTT. Native MQTT is our new implementation of the MQTT plugin that does not proxy via RabbitMQ's core protocol AMQP 0.9.1 anymore. The results are spectacular: Memory usage drops by up to 95%, end-to-end latency decreases by 50% - 70%, and throughput increases by 30% - 40%. For the first time, RabbitMQ is able to handle millions of connections. The second feature is MQTT 5.0. You will learn about the MQTT 5.0 protocol and how your IoT workload will benefit from the new RabbitMQ MQTT 5.0 implementation. The talk concludes with RabbitMQ's road ahead for MQTT in 2024.
