Incinerate Sorcerer Damage stat vs DoT stat - Diablo 4 / Season 4

Three test comparisons of Damage % leaned stats, versus Fire Damage Over Time (Burning) leaned stats. I swap out similar weapon, gloves, and a ring, which all have the Fire Damage over Time tempering affix instead of Damage %. 00:00 Intro 00:36 Test 1 - Damage Percentage 02:20 Test 1 - Damage Over Time 03:57 Test 2 - Damage Percentage 05:57 Test 2 - Damage Over Time 07:42 Test 3 - Damage Percentage 09:05 Test 3 - Damage Over Time - All-Damage variant: 980% All-damage, 122k Attack Power, 1830% Burning, 2078 INT - DoT variant: 614.5% All-damage, 80k Attack Power, 3132% Burning, 2067 INT (so about 366% all-damage vs 1302% Burning) The results are very similar for both versions. Even though the Burning Damage, and skill tooltip reflected much higher with the DoT affixes (forgot to show, was 2.8M vs 3.45M). In all three test sessions, the damage numbers/upper-range produced are very similar. Similar/close enough that I wouldn't declare either unequivocally better or anything. The obvious benefit then comes to the all-around build damage; for instance your other non-DoT skills, however small will do more damage. Teleports for instance, or Ice Blades if those are used for CDR , your Hydra direct damage, etc. Curiously, the longer I was in there the higher the damage range seemed to be lol. ie. each pair of tests the damage seemed to improve.
