This finding lasted for the rest of his career, the extremely productive composer wrote more than a thousand cantatas and some passiones, psalms and smaller sacral works. Despite the amount of work, his pieces were never monotonous or boring, but on the contrary cover a wide variety of different genres, forms, expressions and structure.
