This song is about a series of messages (“warnings”) he receives to stay away from this woman. They are warnings he doesn’t heed, even though it would have been wise to do so, because his feelings for her are too strong to listen to them. In the first verse, the warning comes from nature, as an omen. In verse two, it’s from his subconscious, as a prophetic dream. In verse three, the message comes from the woman herself. This song was written by Aynsley Dunbar, and first recorded by his project the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation so named because John Mayall had fired him from his Blues Breakers. Ozzy actually misheard the lyric “warned about you baby,” singing it as “born without you baby,” therefore losing the lyric from the song that named it.
