1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Teviot III Limousine, No Expense Spared Restoration!

This Hooper Teviot III is one of the most desired bodies on the Silver Wraith chassis. WVH89 has benefitted from a no-expense spared restoration from 2001-2004 that is documented with a huge file of receipts totaling in excess of $125,000 (and is not a comprehensive file, we’re sure), leaving on offer here a gorgeous 1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Limousine. This Silver Wraith would be competitive in most all concours events, but would be sublime to enjoy through wine country or just to and from a wonderful dinner. This was a restoration performed with the top experts in the world and was part of a 25 car collection of Rolls-Royces, and this example has had almost no miles added since. The livery is completed in Tudor Gray that is done in a more modern Phantom Gray (Paint Code PPG 01E3). The paint is beautiful and perfect save for a few light scratches from being stored for many years in the collection. The chrome is absolutely breathtaking as well as the stainless steel, all being finished by Paul’s Chrome. Look closely at the grill surround, beautifully polished and brilliant! It is also complimented by the proper R100 headlights, FT 67 center spotlight and SFT 576 fog lights. It also featured the rare Heavy Duty Wilmont bumpers, which give it a more modern look. The interior is a gorgeous light beige leather and is actual Connelly leather and is perfect in every way. The Wilton wool carpeting is also excellent. Importantly, the leather was supplied by the Rolls-Royce supplier, the wood veneers were redone by Madera Concepts and all the new bits were supplied by Albers Rolls-Royce, now Bentley of Zionsville. Nothing was skimped. The engine compartment is finished at a concours level. Again, a significant number of NOS parts were acquired for its restoration, and it shows. The engine and the entire engine compartment would compete well in any concours competition. The venerable 4.5 liter six-cylinder engine performs very well, mated to the modified GM Hydramatic four-speed automatic transmission. The servo-assisted power brakes are also all comprised of new parts and work beautifully. This car performs very well. Even in our 110 degree F weather this Silver Wraith was faithful and repeatedly drove well. The oil pressure is acceptable but topping out above 23 pounds and dropping to just below 10 pounds under idle. The chassis is beautifully restored and is ready for concours competition. Again, it is obvious that the restoration was setting out to be the very best. And that it is. This Silver Wraith includes most all of the large tools and oil fittings, torch (flashlight), owners manual, etc. But it does not have its tool tray nor the small tools.
