This video explains how to ring out monitors and FOH to increase gain before feedback for live performances. This live sound reinforcement tutorial features the Behringer X32, Midas M32, Behringer XR18, and Midas MR18 digital consoles. While particularly useful for live musical performances (bands), it is also useful in speech reinforcement. The technique is described with the option of using parametric EQ (PEQ), or the graphic eq ( GEQ) - equalization)). The information applies to other consoles, but this technique is utilizing the RTA (real time analyzer) that is built into the Behringer digital consoles and software. It is available on the surface of the X32 and M32, as well as in the PC, Mac, and tablet software such as Mix Station. I'm using X-Air Edit, and X-Edit PC software in the video. The consoles are running the latest FW (firmware) as of this upload date (3/2021) Eliminating feedback from live performances, increasing gain before feedback (GBF) potential, can make for happier musicians and audiences. This is another tool for an audio tech to put in their toolkit. Especially, when you don't have measurement software to do this job for you.
