In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP Spanish Literature and Culture, we will review how the geopolitical context of Spain during the 17th century affects the literary production. We will examine the cultural context of the Spanish Baroque, known as the pinnacle of the Spanish art and literature, paradoxically developed at the beginning of the decline of the Spanish empire. We will explore how writers denounced their inconformity with their cultural reality and milieux through complex syntax, literary devices, and use of cult vocabulary. We will review how to analyze and compare the sonnets, the poetic genre initially examined in Unit 2; we will also review the literary devices and narrative techniques of Don Quijote and the characteristics of the 17th-century comedy as they appear in El burlador de Sevilla. We will focus our review on developing responses to FRQs 1 and 3. Access lesson handouts and helpful resources here: https://tinyurl.com/APSpanishLit2021R...
