But first, you need to make sure that you have the mobility and the strength. Two tests to make sure you can Front Squat are: Being able to Barbell Back Squat and do a Goblet Squat with at least 45 pounds. - Feet - Traditional Stance - Torso - Remains Upright - Arms - Olympic Grip if good shoulder mobility - Two fingers on the bar right where it gets rough - Elbows up, chest tall - Cross Arm Grip if weaker shoulder mobility - Same hand position as Olympic grip - Squat down and find a comfortable end range, make sure the bar does not spill downwards. - You will feel it in your quads, core, upper back, and maybe in the glutes - How do you know if you are doing this right? - Upper back vertical, torso tall, heels on the ground - If heels elevate or bar feels uncomfortable then regress If you enjoyed this video check out a few of our others that go along with it!
