Male Karelian Bear Dog Training/ Dog Reactivity/ Dog Aggression/ Basic Obedience

Soapy gets conditioned to various cues prior to this walk. He knows "yes" means food is coming/he's done something correct, "ah-ah" means a punishment is coming/he's done something incorrect, and "leave it" means if he leaves it I will pay him and if he doesn't I will punish him/correct him. Punishment doesn't mean be cruel to him or hurt him. It means something he find aversive, a leash correction or verbal correction works. He knows door threshold (to wait and not door blast), he can walk loose leash, unless he is reacting to a dog, he may lunge and bark. He can sit and stay until released so he has a lot of basic obedience down. We will use his obedience skills to help him overcome his dog reactivity. In this video he is working on his "look" cue, this will help him not escalate when he sees triggers. When we see dogs, we cue look to keep his eyes on his handler and off the dogs he may react to. Soapy is a Karelian Bear Dog (little GSD and Husky in there) and KBD's are considered to be dog aggressive, considering this genetic trait we will work on what works best for him to thrive in this world.
