In his remarks, Shivshankar Menon (former Foreign Secretary and National Security Advisor of India) highlighted the importance and current scenario of geopolitics in the Himalayas. Himalayan Future Forum (HFF) is an initiative to encourage multi-faceted dialogues on the Himalayas by bringing together stakeholders from different countries and sectors. Currently incubated as a center as part of the Nepal Economic Forum, it will emerge as a separate not-for-profit entity over a period of time. HFF 2024 was the first flagship event of the forum. It consisted of four types of sessions - keynote speeches, panel discussions, conversations, and presentations - that talked about climate, community, and connectivity in the Himalayan region.
