Apart from Khayal, Tappa and Tarana, the Gwalior Gharana also has a strong link with Thumri singing. The great grandson of Ustad Inayat Hussain Khan of Rampur, Rashid Khan is adept at singing Thumris of his native place, Uttar Pradesh. All the songs sung in this album by the artist are old, traditional Thumris, except the Dadra Baaton Baaton Mein in Mishra Pahadi, composed by his maternal uncle, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
