The Killar-Manali road was still closed due to landslide near Shaor. So changed the plan and decided to take Killar-Kishtwar route. Although I have driver on this route on my Lalpari (Ford Fogo) in 2015 still the route is quite dangerous and unpredictable especially for a solo traveller. Began early, at 6am. It was still little dark, no issues for the first 15 km till Sansari Nallah (Himachal-J&K border) though. The road became quite tough and scary thereafter…many sharp hair pin bends, steep incline, loose gravel, big boulders and loneliness. Crossed the five kilometer stretch after Sansari Nallah with little difficulty. The road thereafter was under construction and became little normal. Had to register and show id and d/l at three places…once in Himachal and twice in J&K. Crossed Ishtiyari and Tiyari without any difficulty. The Cliffhanger Road in between Ishtiyari and Tiyari has been closed and new road has been constructed which was still under process but doable. Had to face lot of difficulty after crossing Tiyari…a very scary lonely stretch near Ungaie Nallah Bridge and Sohal Nallah Bridge, where my White Horse lost traction, skidded back and had to be pushed back on the road with some help…very scary moment. Reached Kishtwar late afternoon. Enjoyed the evening at crowded bus stand, had nice dinner, walk and sleep inside the car, my HOME ON WHEELs parked near Bus Stand, Kishtwar…!!!
