I did up this drawing of Batman for the How To Draw Comics.Net June 2024 Drawing Contest . The theme of the contest was to do a makeover of an iconic superhero character. Also, students had to come up with a summary of the storyline in 500 words or less. The timelapse was rendered in ProCreate. Enjoy! Alfred has been incapacitated while the Joker steals research that Batman is conducing on vampire bats. The research is brought to Axis Chemicals where the Joker engineers a vampire virus that is sold in drug stores across Gotham as a beauty product called, Smile-Vamp. As the product is spread across Gotham City, the citizens begin to succomb to the vampire virus created by the Joker, which instantly turns anyone who comes into contact with the Smile-Vamp compound into a vampire. Batman quickly manufactures an infrared eye scanner that will identify the infected before he comes into contact with them. In a last ditch effort to save Gotham City, Batman smelts down Martha Wayne's extensive silverware set kept in the dining room of Wayne Manor to make silver stakes to kill those who have already turned, and to save the ones who are being chased mercilessly across Gotham City. Batman has one chance to save Gotham City by confronting the Joker who has the antidote for Smile-Vamp, but who has voluntarily become a vampire. Notes: I put this composition together by following a drawing tutorial with Ethan Van Sciver so the drawing does reflect his realistic style, while incorporating my own judgements and adding gear for Batman for the storyline to address the vampire threat in Gotham City.
