The Following Video is a continuation of my series on Classical German Philosophy, German Romanticism, German Idealism, Jewish Philosophy and Contemporary German Philosophy (From Eckhart to Heidegger). For this video, I invited Dr. Alfred Denker who is the director of the European Centre for Heidegger Studies (ECHS). Dr. Denker helps navigates our viewers through the complex life and thought of the German Philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) Our discussion begins with the question "why" ... we contemporary students, and scholars of philosophy/thinking should return to the multilayered thinking of Martin Heidegger Our main discussion revolves around Heidegger's Sein und Zeit (Being and Time) and Heidegger's late philosophical turn into Poetry, Language and Thinking. Dr. Denker also gives us an Indepth biography on Heidegger's family, and his life. Dr. Alfred Denker is the Director of the European Centre for Heidegger Studies. He is co-editor of the Martin-Heidegger-Gesamtausgabe, founder and co-editor of the Heidegger-Jahrbuch, as well as founder and co-editor of the Martin-Heidegger-Briefausgabe and of the Anuario-Heidegger. Dr. Denker has been working on a three-volume biography of Martin Heidegger.
