What I Eat For Well-Aging Skin

I'm asked all the time about habits outside of my skincare routines that positively affect my skin so I want to start with how I eat. These are some personal preferences as well as restrictions due to food intolerances that may be blessings (I tell myself) in disguise. Topical skincare is only a small part of my more holistic approach to well ageing skin which starts with a healthful body and good habits. When my body is out of sorts, it affects my reactive skin. It all boils down to preventing and reducing inflammation in the body or excessive “heat” in TCM terms. By no means do I have perfect eating habits, I like to eat all the things. But I strive for balance over elimination, except for the things I have to avoid because of allergies and intolerance. Like for skincare, I like even my food to be multi-tasking.
