Learn How To Ground and Pound - MMA Fundamentals

Learn how to Ground and Pound your opponent when you are tied up in the guard. Punching and striking when you're caught in your opponent's guard might seem straight forward but if you don't understand the basics of ground and pound from this position then it's easy to get out of shape and get caught by a skilled guard player. This MMA video covers several core concepts and fundamental components for successful ground striking including placement of the feet, knees, hands, elbows and head and some basic guidance around striking from inside the guard. In Mixed Martial Arts being caught in guard doesn't necessarily mean that you're at a disadvantage, if you're effective at keeping yourself out of submissions and know how to punch and strike without being compromised then you can do a lot of damage from this position. If you're an MMA beginner or you have BJJ experience but are new to MMA then these core concepts are crucial if you want your MMA Ground and Pound to have maximum effect and you want to avoid the submissions and counter attacks of your opponent. Here are the fundamental points in how to ground and pound: 1) Keep yourself lined up with your opponents spine, don't let them take an angle on you 2) Stay up on your toes if possible rather just lying flat on your feet so that you can explode forward when needed 3) Establish inside arm positions and keep your elbows tucked back 4) Don't put your hands on the mat 5) Be deliberate with your head position, use head pressure when appropriate to pin your opponent while you strike them #mma #bjj #ufc #submission #grappling
