Hornsey - 08:10 to 09:10 Drayton Park - 09:25 to 10:05 A visit to Hornsey and Drayton Park to see some East Coast action during the morning rush hour. Includes plenty of Great Northern trains, some Virgin Trains East Coast trains and a Grand Central HST and First Hull Trains 180. Look out for D9009 with 'The White Rose' which was the main reason to visit Hornsey with 444Chylance. After Hornsey I went to Drayton Park to see some Great Northern 313s changing AC/DC currents on the Moorgate branch which is third-rail so southbound trains have to lower their pantographs and lower their shoes. It is the opposite for northbound trains. Notice at 18:30, a Cross-Country HST (on-lease to VTEC) set passed by but we got bowled by a pair of 313s completely unlike the Deltic so a panic ensued concluding with the XC HSTs powering away in the distance once the 313s came to a stop. I did see it on the southbound run but I was setting my tripod up so I did not get it working towards London. That probably was my second biggest cock-up. Features plenty of trains with most trains having service details as usual (headcode, origin + time and destination with some 'via' routes).
