Okay, THIS was cool. Hall of Famer Mike Piazza did a private Q&A with some fans BEFORE the game against the Los Angeles Angels. This event was only available for a small group of season ticket holders, and my friend Ben Weil (@benny_bang_bang) invited me as his plus-one. I had met Piazza nearly 30 years earlier at a baseball camp in Florida, so it was cool to see him up close again after such a long time (and get a fist-bump from him). But my friend Ben . . . just WOW! Not only does Piazza recognize him, but he follows Ben's wife, Jen, on Instagram, and Piazza asked him about her new tattoo! How crazy is that?? Shoutout to Jen for being amazing. I was prepared to get shut out and not get any balls, but then an unexpected opportunity unfolded late in the game.
