I highly suggest you play Innocent Sin yourself or watch my video on the game to get extra context for my review of Eternal Punishment. Persona 2 Innocent Sin is a good game overall. Sure, I think that the PSP remaster definitely butchered the combat mechanics to a large extent. But what kept me going through all of that was the game’s story and cast of characters. Innocent Sin ended on a sombre note. Despite our heroes' best efforts, they couldn’t stop the world from being destroyed by Nyarlathotep. The only solution to this problem was to erase the group's memories of meeting each other. By doing so, a new timeline is created where the events of Innocent Sin never happened. At the end of the day, it seems as though the childhood friends were destined to stay apart.
