It was 1955, on opening day at Disneyland. Sleeping Beauty Castle's drawbridge was raised, when out rode a knight on horseback declaring: "Open the Fantasyland gates... in the name of the children of the world!" The gates were lowered, and children rushed the castle to enter their new land. It wasn't until 1983 when Disneyland opened its newly reimagined Fantasyland that the castle drawbridge would again be raised and lowered to welcome those leaving the world of today and entering the world of fantasy. In the Magic Kingdom, at Walt Disney World, Cinderella's castle lacks a drawbridge. And no knight would be galloping through the front gates. But following the first expansion to a land that saw its largest area of real estate demolished and a major corner of the park slotted as a permanently temporary addition, a festival would be had to celebrate "New Fantasyland." In this festival gathered the citizens of Fantasyland both old and new to parade throughout the park, not only marking the expansion of the park, but debatebly the first really new parade to be held in Magic Kingdom since the original incarnation of the Share a Dream Come True Parade in 2001. (Although a street party, we can give a nod to the Move It Shake It Street Party for that as well.)
