William Dale Fries Jr., an American singer, activist and politician, was best known by his stage name, C.W. McCall. During the CB (citizens band) radio craze in the 1970s he had a big hit called “Convoy” which is listed on “Rolling Stone” magazine’s 100 Greatest Country Songs of All Time.
